History - How It All Started
DETROIT,
September 29th, 1966,
General Motors, who was not so sure of the new product,
unraveled a Pony Car of its own, resetting the standard for the
class with impressive performance, luxury and styling: the Chevrolet
Camaro & Pontiac Firebird.
And
How It All Ended.
DETROIT,
September 25, 2001. General Motors Corporation today
announced that 2002 will be the last model year for the Chevrolet
Camaro and Pontiac Firebird. The Ste. Thérèse,
Quebec plant where the vehicles are produced will close in the
fall of 2002.
